Emotorium was born one autumn evening — effortlessly and unexpectedly, as though a door to an entire Universe had suddenly opened in our imagination. Almost at once, the first planets appeared, along with their names, unusual inhabitants, and stories we could not wait to write and illustrate.
But in truth, it all began much earlier — with our love for children, their sincerity, imagination, endless questions, and remarkable ability to see the world in their own special way.
This idea brought the three of us together — Viktoria, Katya, and Olya. We have been friends for many years, and so have our children. That is why the book’s characters were largely inspired by what we observed in them: their personalities, habits, curiosity, courage, feelings, and dreams. Together, we imagined the planets, developed the storylines, and filled each world with important ideas. In this way, a story initially conceived as a single book gradually grew into a trilogy.
The twelve planets of Emotorium bring together the feelings and qualities that we believe people need for a happy and mindful life: curiosity, resourcefulness, kindness, romance, courage, creativity, friendliness, justice, honesty, faith, generosity, and love.
There are deliberately no purely negative characters in the book. There are only those who have lost their way, their hope, their faith in themselves, or their connection to their inner light. But over the course of this extraordinary journey, each of them is given the chance to change: by becoming aware, receiving support, and working through their feelings in a healthy way, they can regain harmony and turn toward the light.
Today, children enter the world of technology at ever younger ages, where readily available information and artificial forms of entertainment come and go at incredible speed. We wanted to create a space that brings them back to real human connection, reading together, imagination, and genuine dialogue between a child and an adult.
Emotorium makes it easy to talk about feelings and human qualities — through adventures, magical worlds, and vivid characters. The book does not offer ready-made answers; instead, it invites readers to reflect, ask questions, listen to one another, and make discoveries together.
We created this book with great love, hoping that it would become not only an engaging story for every family, but also a reason for families to spend more time together, use their imaginations, discuss what matters, and better understand themselves and their loved ones.
We very much hope that every reader will find in Emotorium a planet of their own, a character of their own, and the feeling that will help them reconnect with their inner child and see this world more deeply — as a kinder, brighter place.
